At this year’s Photokina, General Imaging has released on the market a line-up of three point and shoot digital cameras.

First in line comes the 10.1-megapixel GE E1055W featuring a 3-inch LCD display, a 5x optical zoom and blink /smile face detection. Next, we have the GE E1050TW, a digital camera that can high definition movie at 1280 x 720 pixels resolution.

Last but not least, the GE A1030 sports a 2.5-inch LCD display, 3x optical zoom and a ultrathin design.

We have no information of pricing and availability but we’ll keep you posted.

Kodak EasyShare Z1485 IS Digital Camera

Kodak has just released on the market at this year’s Photokina a new point-and-shoot camera called the Kodak Z1485 IS.

This digital camera features a 14-megapixel sensor, 5x optical zoom lens with Image Stabilizer, up to 6400 ISO, 32 MB internal memory, SDHC memory slot, intelligent capture control, intelligent scene detection, intelligent image processing, Text and sound tagging, Face detection technology, Panorama stitch mode and Kodak’s Perfect Touch Technology.

There are no information available on pricing and availability but we’ll keep you posted.

Pentax K2000 Entry-Level DSLR Camera

Pentax has a new surprise for their customers: a brand new entry-level DSLR known as the Pentax K2000.

This digital camera features a 10.2MP sensor, up to 3200 ISO, 2.7 inch LCD display, 3.5 fps shooting rate and SD/SDHC memory card slot. In addition to all that it uses a dust removal and alert system along with 10 scene modes.

The most exciting thing about it is that it features a backward compatibility will all Pentax lenses released since 1975.

The K2000 will be available in stores starting this November with a $699 price tag.

Sony Handycam HDR-FX1000E

Sony has just announced on the market its new Handycam especially for all you home video-lovers out there.

The camera can record onto digital tape, features a 20x zoom, HDV 1080i recording and a new 25p progressive scan mode. Also, the HDR-FX1000E will boast with a crystal clear 1/3″ 3 ClearVid CMOS sensor with Exmor derived technology enabling extra sensitivity, CinemaTone Gamma and CinemaTone Color technology.

The 29.5mm wide angle G lens will work with sensor and processing functions and will provide spectacular results. According to Sony, the camera will offer the best HDV image quality.

If all that it’s not enough you can always add the VCL HG0872X high-grade wide conversion lens that feature a 23.6mm focal length.

Sony T500 Cybershot

In October, Sony is ready to hit the market with their new 10 megapixel Cybershot T500 digital camera available in red, black and silver colors.

The device features a 5x optical zoom and is able to record 720p at 30fps. With a 4GB memory stick you can save up to 60 minutes of HD clips with stereo sound.

T500 is a user friendly camera that allows you to record and shoot photos at the same time thanks to a switch located on top of the camera. You will have no problems using the camera in very bright conditions because the 3.5” LCD touchscreen is coated in a special transflective material.

In addition to all that, the T500 Cybershot includes face detection and an image stabilisation system with Double Anti-Blur.

Two New Models For Canon’s A-series

Canon has just announced for the next month two new 10 – megapixel digital cameras for their A-Series: the A1000 IS and the A2000 IS.

Both cameras feature 30fps VGA video capabilities, DIGIC III processing, a 3200 ISO maximum sensitivity, 17 shooting modes, face detection technology and optical image stabilization. And that’s pretty much all they have in common.

Now, for the differences: the A1000 IS comes in blue, silver or brown colors and boasts with a 2.5-inch monitor and 4x zoom lens while the A2000 IS will be silver or gunmetal and will have a 3.0-inch LCD monitor and 6x optical zoom lens.

Sony’s Cybershot DSC-T500 Now With Hi-Def Recording

The Cyber-shot DSC-T500 is the newest 10-megapixel digital camera from Sony that features high-definition video recording capability.

The camera will offer 3x higher resolution than any other standard-definition videos thanks to its full-screen 720p movie recording at 30 fps and the AVC/H.264 codec for video compression and stereo audio.

The memory can be upgraded with a Memory Stick media card that goes up to 16GB.

And that’s not all; the camera also features a 3.5-inch touch panel LCD screen, high sensitivity settings up to ISO3200, Carl Zeiss 5x optical zoom lens with a wide field of view and Optical SteadyShot image stabilization.

Starting this September the DSC-T500 will be available on the market with a price tag of $400.

Olympus has a new and stylish surprise for its customers: the beautiful and tiny Stylus. This slim device 1040 is measuring only 1 inch in thickness and is lighter than 4 ounces.

It’s a smart camera that features in-camera editing, face detection for up to 16 people, intelligent scene and smile recognition and panorama picture creation. If its internal memory isn’t enough you can use the xD – Picture or mircoSD cards.

The Slim-Stylish Stylus 1040 is a great camera that will wait for its customers starting this October with a $199 price tag.

New Casio Line-up Will Put Some Make-Up On Your Face

According to Pocket Lint, Casio’s Exilim series will be welcoming some new design-focussed models in the nearest future.

The first in line will be the 10-megapixel Casio Exilim EX-Z300 that will feature a unique “make-up mode” helping you edit your photos with blur and extra smoothness.

Next to it, the line-up will also comprise the 9.3-megapixel Casio Exilim Card EX-Z19 and the 9.1-megapixel Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z85 and the 9.1-megapixel Casio Exilim Zoom EX-Z250.

According to the producer this “make-up” mode is the next best thing in digital camera industry and this will hopefully become a very used feature among amateur and professional photographers.

Samsung MX20

The MX20 is the first compact digital camcorder by Samsung that applies the H.264 CODEC to SD camcorders. In other words, you will be able to transfer video files on the Internet much faster than before keeping the video quality.

The camera boasts with Schneider lens with 34x optical zoom along with Hyper Digital Image Stabilization, a memory card slot for SD/SDHC and MMC+ cards and a beautiful 2.7” LCD display that will work perfectly even in direct sunlight.

This is the perfect camera if you’re a YouTube fan.

The Samsung MX20 will hit the stores no later than September in white, red, black and blue color versions.
