After releasing the E-520 and E-3 models, Olympus has a new ace up its sleeve: the powerful E-30.

This new 12.3-megapixel dSLR is ready to join the battle and challenge the existing players: the Canon EOS 50D, the Nikon D90 and the Canon EOS 40D. The E-30 uses six effects during shooting: Pin Hole, Pop Art, Light Tone, Soft Focus, Grainy Film and Pale and Light.

Olympus has a new and stylish surprise for its customers: the beautiful and tiny Stylus. This slim device 1040 is measuring only 1 inch in thickness and is lighter than 4 ounces.

It’s a smart camera that features in-camera editing, face detection for up to 16 people, intelligent scene and smile recognition and panorama picture creation. If its internal memory isn’t enough you can use the xD – Picture or mircoSD cards.

The Slim-Stylish Stylus 1040 is a great camera that will wait for its customers starting this October with a $199 price tag.

Olympus FE-360 and FE-370 Digital Cameras

Olympus made today a great announcement releasing two compact digital point-and-shoot cameras on the market: the Olympus FE-370 and the Olympus FE-360.

Each of these cameras boasts with a resolution of 8-megapixels, Face Detection and Dual Image Stabilization. The FE-360 comes equipped with 3x optical zoom lens while the FE-370 features a generous LCD display, 5x optical zoom, Smile Shutter and Intelligent Auto Mode.

Both cameras will be available in five colors and will hit the stores as soon as possible. Unfortunately there is no information available on pricing but as soon as we find out more we’ll let you know.

Olympus E-3

It seems the new Olympus E-3 wants to take on Nikon and Canon for the crown in the SLR market. It has in its toolbox a 270-degree 2.5-inch swivel HyperCrystal LCD screen and has an 11-point AF sensor, optional metering modes, exposure compensation, multiple focusing modes and noise reduction, just to name a few of its weapons.

The strong points of this camera are the viewfinder and live view function which are considered to kick some serious hiney. A lot of reviews, put this camera in the Consider to buy list and we will have to wait and see if the praises will live up to the sales.
