With a classic look for the current generation of compact cameras, the Cyber-Shot WX5 has a 12.2 megapixel CMOS sensor Exmor R and the ability to record video in 1080i format with AVCHD compression. The WX5 has also a 3 inch sensitive touchscreen.
The background defocus function replaces the lack of a large aperture lens and makes the background more diffuse for a professional effect. This is one of the first Sony Cyber-shot camera able to make 3D images. The Sony WX5 has a sensor that allow you to combine several shots into stereoscopic images. All you have to do is to select the function and move the camera from one side to another.
The Sony Cyber-shot WX5 will be available from 15 September and will have a price of 320 euros.
